Empi 009 style electronic ignition distributor is a direct bolt in swap for 12 volt VW Type 1 and Type 4 engines. This centrifugal advance closely matches the original 009 advance curve. Features Empi's Accu Fire electronic ignition module for reliable spark. Requires a 3 to 3.5 Ohm coil and 12 volt system.
***Note for installation - verify your POS+ and NEG- terminals before installation! The black wire must be hooked up on the negative coil side, and the red wire must be hooked up to a 12v POS+ keyed on power source. Wiring these up backwards, or leaving the key on when the engine is not running can burn up the module.***
